For private and online schools

Make handling pressure part of the curriculum

Schools that educate athletes, musicians and performers already know the problem: these students are asked to deliver in moments that do not wait, and almost nothing in a normal timetable prepares them for it. Mental performance can be trained the way physical performance is trained — structured, progressive, and measured.

Two ways schools work with us

Most partnerships run both at once — a school-led cohort for a selected group, and an endorsement to the wider student body.

  • The school runs a cohort

A selected group trains as part of the school programme, with structured mental performance work alongside their sport, music or performing arts commitment. At ICL Academy this was used for high-school PE credit in the 2025–26 school year.

  • The school recommends it to families

For the wider student body, the school endorses the programme and families enrol directly at a rate reserved for the school community. No administration for the school, and no cost.

PE credit

It has been done, at high-school level

ICL Academy used this programme for high-school PE credit in the 2025–26 school year. That is the precedent, and it is the useful thing to know: another school has already made the determination, and the paperwork survived.

We cannot grant credit — that is your school’s decision under your own accreditation. What we can do is provide the participation and completion evidence that decision needs, and walk you through how ICL approached it.

Proof

“At ICL Academy, we are dedicated to providing all passion-based students in sports, music, performing arts, and more with resources that get them ready for the future.”
Kirk Spahn — Founder and President, ICL Academy

We have partnered with ICL Academy since 2024 to build an environment in which mental fitness training is as normal as physical fitness training.

What the school sees — and what it does not

This is the part worth reading closely, because it is what makes the programme work rather than a limitation on it.

  • Participation

Whether a student is engaging with their programme, at the cadence the programme expects.

  • Completion

Progress through the pathway, and completion of the stages that credit or reporting depends on.

  • Never individual results

Assessment results belong to the student. We do not share them with the school, and we say so to students up front — because that is what makes them answer honestly.

What it looks like for a student

  • Eight minutes, inside training

Mental workouts integrate into the cooldown of physical training rather than adding another commitment to an already full week.

  • A curriculum, not a chat

Structured, progressive training built on exercise physiology — the same method used by professional athletes, at the stage a student is at.

  • It transfers

The skills apply wherever performance is judged in a moment: competition, audition, recital, exam hall.

Questions schools ask

Can this count for PE credit?

ICL Academy used it for high-school PE credit in the 2025–26 school year. Whether it counts at your school is your school’s decision under its own accreditation — we cannot grant credit, but we can provide the participation and completion evidence a school needs to make that determination, and we can talk you through how ICL approached it.

Is this mental health support or counselling?

No. This is performance training — building mental skills the way physical training builds physical ones. It complements counselling and clinical support rather than replacing them, and we are explicit with students about that distinction.

What does the school get to see?

Participation and completion, at the level you need for credit or pastoral oversight. Not individual assessment results — those stay with the student. Reporting can also be switched off entirely for a group if that is the right setting for your context.

Is it only for athletes?

No. Most of our students compete in sport, but performing under pressure is the same problem for musicians, dancers, actors and students facing high-stakes exams. The techniques and the routines transfer.

How much does it cost?

School engagements are quoted individually — cohort size, cadence and the level of coaching involvement vary too much for a list price to be useful. Families enrolling through a school endorsement do so at a rate reserved for that school community.
